On launching a new version of Drupal system,
King Khalid University (KKU) has received a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Suwail. In his letter, the Minister congratulated the university on the occasion of launching a new version of its electronic gate, using an open source technology (Drupal).

His excellency the Minister noted, "The achievement is one of the leading and important achievements in the field of electronic and governmental transactions in the Kingdom, and it is due to the keenness of King Khalid University to reduce costs and to take advantage of open source technologies, in addition to activating e-government services and making progress in the service of the private and governmental agencies." The Minister reiterated the continued support of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, represented by the e-government program (Yaser). "All that would support the university in its march to shift to e-transaction is provided", he said.
Al dawood: "The general Department of Information Technology of the University allocated the bulk of its attention for the optimal use of the latest technology."
On this matter, His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al dawood, praised His Excellency the Minister of Communication's gesture. The Rector assured that the numerous efforts being made by the government, in order to achieve a Saudi information society by taking advantage of technology to enable the University staff to provide affordable services to the community would be a continuous one. He pointed out, "The King Khalid University, represented by the General Department of Information Technology of the University allocated the bulk of its attention for the optimal use of the latest technology"
