تستضيف جامعة الملك خالد ممثلة في وحدة التوعية الفكرية، غدًا الثلاثاء، مستشار الديوان الملكي عضو هيئة كبار العلماء معالي الشيخ الدكتور عبدالله بن محمد المطلق، وذلك في مجلس الضيافة بالإدارة العامة بمقر الجامعة، وتأتي الاستضافة ضمن فعاليات برنامج الشراكة بين الأمانة العامة لهيئة كبار العلماء وجامعة الملك خالد تحت مسمى برنامج القيم العليا للإسلام ونبذ التطرّف "برنامج زيارة عالِم".

من جهته أوضح نائب المشرف على وحدة التوعية الفكرية بكليات البنين وفروع الجامعة الدكتور مسفر بن أحمد الوادعي، أن هذا اللقاء سيتحدث فيه فضيلة الشيخ المطلق حول المنهج الشرعي في التعامل مع النوازل والفتن وسيلتقي معاليه بطلاب المنح بالجامعة.

يذكر أن اللقاء يعد الرابع من أصل سلسلة لقاءات تهدف الشراكة من خلالها إلى تحقيق عدة محاور أبرزها: مكانة العلماء في الأمة، ومصادر التلقي في حياة الشاب، والمنهج الشرعي في التعامل مع الفتن، والوسطية وأثرها في الأمة، والإلحاد وأثره على الدين.

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, is pleased to announce a new program called the 'Be Part of It' initiative. This new student organization is a collaboration of the Anaya student club from the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushait and the Nazaha club from the Deanship of Student Affairs at Greger. The purpose is to encourage integrity and honesty in each individual's academic, professional and personal affairs.

 

The inauguration ceremony opened with a reading from the Holy Qur'an, followed by an explanation from the club leader Raed Al Qahtani on the goals, and strategies to achieve higher levels of honesty and integrity in society.

 

In the Rector's opening remarks, he commended the organizing members of the initiative as well as those who chose to join the effort. He urged all students to follow a virtuous path of unwavering integrity in every aspect of life. The Rector commented on the importance of the new initiative in helping people avoid succumbing to the unholy temptations of deception and deceit.

 

Later the organizers presented a short video introducing the new initiative and further explaining the club's history, objectives and strategic plan. The initiative is active online with links to the university's main website. Students are being encouraged to participate via text messages. At the end of the ceremony, the organizers thanked the Rector for his patronage and presented him with a commemorative plaque.

دشن معالي مدير جامعة الملك خالد الأستاذ الدكتور فالح بن رجاء الله السلمي، مؤخرًا  مبادرة وثيقة "كن منا" والتي أقامها نادي عناية الطلابي بكلية التمريض بخميس مشيط بالشراكة مع نادي نزاهة بعمادة شؤون الطلاب وذلك في مقر المدينة الجامعية بأبها "قريقر".

وافتتح حفل التدشين بآيات من القرآن الكريم، عقبها كلمة ترحيبية ثم أوضح رئيس نادي عناية رائد القحطاني فكرة مبادرة وثيقة "كن منا" لافتًا إلى أن هدفها الرئيس يتمثل في تعزيز الأمانة العلمية والحد من ظاهرة الغش.

بدوره أشاد معالي مدير الجامعة بالمبادرة والقائمين عليها، موجهًا عددا من النصائح حث من خلالها طلاب وطالبات الجامعة على وجوب تفعيل جانب النزاهة في مسيرتهم العلمية، لافتًا إلى أهمية ما تقدمة هذه المبادرة ومؤكدًا كذلك على أهمية الالتحاق بها.

تلا ذلك التدشين الإلكتروني للفعالية والذي تضمن عرض فيديو تعريفي عن المبادرة مع رابط الانضمام لها على موقع الجامعة الرئيس بالإضافة إلى بث رسائل نصية لجميع طلاب وطالبات جامعة الملك خالد تحثهم على المشاركة في هذي المبادرة.

وفي ختام التدشين كرم معالي المدير الجهات المشاركة في المبادرة، وتسلم أيضًا درعًا تذكاريًا من المنظمين بهذه المناسبة.

الجدير بالذكر أن هناك معرضا متنقلا للمبادرة "كن منا" وميثاقا ورقيا يسلم للمنظمين للمبادرة بالإضافة إلى التوقيع على اللوحة الجدارية للمبادرة في المدينة الجامعية بالقريقر يوم الثلاثاء في مبنى أ بوابة 9 والأربعاء مبنى ج بوابة 7 ويوم الخميس في كلية التمريض والعلوم الطبية التطبيقية بخميس مشيط.

His Royal Highness, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir Region, presided over the university graduation ceremony on Monday. This is the 21st graduating class of King Khalid University in which 13,450 students received their respective degrees. The ceremony was at the Prince Sultan Sports City facility in Mahala.

 

The ceremony began with King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, welcoming His Royal Highness and his entourage to the event. After further welcoming remarks to the graduates, their families, friends and the faculty, there was a reading from the Holy Quran followed by the customary march of the graduates.

 

In his speech to the graduating class, Rector Al-Solamy said that he was overjoyed to witness yet another group of bright, young students achieve their academic dreams. 'On behalf of the entire university community, we congratulate each and every one of you for a job well done. We also express our gratitude to your family and friends in supporting you throughout your college career. University life is not easy, and our new graduates certainly needed the comfort and encouragement of their loved ones to complete this long journey' he said. The Rector then admonished the 21st graduating class that the benefits of their respective degrees come with great responsibility. 'Your communities and our nation look forward to you assuming leadership roles in government and private industry. We are counting on you to help in the cause of national development, while preserving our national heritage and precious cultural values' said Rector Al Solamy.

Dean of Admissions, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, congratulated the graduating class. He noted that rigorous academic programs are very challenging. Dr. Alani thanked the faculty members who work closely with the students, helping them overcome obstacles and deal with setbacks. He then recited the vital statistics on the class of 2019. The new graduates represent 29 colleges and more than 80 different academic programs. There were 11,358 bachelors degrees awarded, while 1,588 graduates received associates diplomas. He noted that despite the great number of programs, the KKU maintains the highest academic standards throughout the university system. The Dean said that he was looking forward to engaging with another new group of young students this next academic year.

 

Later in the ceremony, the students performed an operetta titled 'Ambition'. The audience was both surprised and delighted by this program.

 

His Royal Highness then congratulated the 21st university class of 2019 including those receiving master and doctorate level degrees. His Royal Highness Prince Turki also recognized those international scholarship students receiving their degrees from King Khalid University. The Prince took photographs with the faculty and graduates. Afterward, the Rector presented His Royal Highness with a plaque commemorating the ceremony and thanking him for his continued patronage.

ويعد المؤتمر ثالث المؤتمرات الدولية التي ينظمها قسم الإعلام والاتصال بالجامعة، حيث تم خلال السنوات الماضية تنظيم المؤتمر الدولي الأول عن الإعلام والإشاعة، والمؤتمر الدولي الثاني عن الإعلام والإرهاب

وثمّن معالي مدير الجامعة المشرف العام على المؤتمر، الأستاذ الدكتور فالح بن رجاء الله السلمي، رعاية سمو أمير منطقة عسير لهذا الحدث العلمي، منوها بجهود سموه في دعم أنشطة الجامعة وفعالياتها، مؤكدًا أن إقامة هذا المؤتمر تأتي من باب إيمان الجامعة بدورها الأكاديمي في مناقشة القضايا العلمية والمجتمعية وفي مقدمتها القضايا الإعلامية بأبعادها المختلفة، لافتًا إلى أن أبرز ما يميز هذا المؤتمر بحثه في الأبعاد والاستراتيجيات الكفيلة بمواجهة وإدارة الأزمات إعلاميًّا، وتجويد ممارسات إعلام الأزمات، إضافة إلى دراسة دور المؤسسات الإعلامية في التقليل من حدة الأزمة، أو إنهائها، وإمكانية التنبؤ بوقوعها مسبقًا.

وفيما يتعلق بتفاصيل المؤتمر أوضح رئيس اللجنة العلمية للمؤتمر المستشار ورئيس قسم الإعلام والاتصال الأستاذ الدكتور علي بن شويل القرني أن هذا المؤتمر يعد من أهم المؤتمرات التي يتم تنظيمها خلال مرحلة من المستجدات المحلية والدولية، ويناقش المؤتمر الإعلام والأزمات في مجالات عديدة منها الاقتصادية والصحية والتعليمية والأمنية وغيرها، لافتًا إلى أنه بلغ عدد المشاركين في المؤتمر أكثر من 60 مشاركا من 15 جنسية مختلفة، ويضم 10 جلسات علمية، إضافة إلى جلستين نقاشيتين ضمن فعاليات المؤتمر، الأولى عن "الإعلام الوطني والأزمات"، فيما تتمحور الثانية حول موضوع "المتحدث الرسمي والإعلام في عسير"، بمشاركة كبار الإعلاميين السعوديين والأكاديميين البارزين، وممثلي الأجهزة الحكومية في منطقة عسير وعدد من إعلاميي المنطقة.

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, is pleased to announce the launch of the pharmacy preparatory course for the SPLE exam. The course is conducted on the KKUx electronic learning platform. KKUx is a collaboration between the Deanship of e-Learning and the College of Pharmacy. Dean of e-Learning, Dr. Fahad Al Ahmari, and the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Saieri, joined the Rector in announcing the new course. A team of 28 faculty members from the College of Pharmacy created the preparatory course. The series includes more than 500 videos which contains more than 4,500 minutes of exam preparation lessons.

 

His Excellency the Rector commended the initiative and all of those individuals who worked so hard to make the new course possible. He pointed out that preparing for standardized professional tests is critical for students and recent graduates. The test result can mean the difference between a successful career and years of struggle or disappointment. 'The university is committed to making sure our students and graduates can fully exhibit their knowledge and skills on professional exams', said the Rector.

 

Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Dr. Saad Du'ajim welcomed the initiative and congratulated the creators. He said that preparing students and graduates for the job market is a fundamental mission of higher education and a top priority in serving the university’s alumnae. He further explained that supplying the labor market with talented professionals is a critical aspect for socioeconomic development and an element of the national growth strategy.

 

Vice Rector Du'ajim stated that the Health Specialties Authority decided to begin testing pharmacy candidates for professional licensure starting in 2019. In developing the pharmacy test preparation course in advance, King Khalid University was and is ready to present our graduates for evaluation. Dr. Du'ajim noted that the KKU course is the first of its kind among Saudi universities and will likely serve as a model for other institutions.

 

The preparatory course encompasses a review of basic medical sciences, plus intensive reviews of pharmacy methods, procedures, and pharmacological knowledge. The course allows for multiple practice tests and provides the user with detailed reports showing areas in which the test taker is strong, and areas where s/he needs improvement. To date, more than 1,500 people have taken the review course for the pharmacy test.

رعى أمير منطقة عسير صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير تركي بن طلال بن عبدالعزيز – حفظه الله -، مساء اليوم "الإثنين" حفل تخريج الدفعة الـ 21 من طلاب جامعة الملك خالد، بمدينة الأمير سلطان بن عبدالعزيز الرياضية بالمحالة.

وكان في استقبال سموه لدى وصوله إلى مقر الاحتفال، معالي مدير الجامعة الأستاذ الدكتور فالح بن رجاء الله السلمي، وعدد من المسؤولين بمنطقة عسير ومنسوبي الجامعة.

وفور وصول سموه تليت آيات عطرة من الذكر الحكيم، أعقبتها مسيرة الخريجين.

وفي كلمته رحب معالي مدير الجامعة خلال الحفل بسمو أمير منطقة عسير، وكافة الحضور من أصحاب الفضيلة والسعادة وآباء وأمهات الخريجين، معبرًا عن عن سعادته بهذه الليلة السعيدة والبهية بتخريج كوكبة من الخريجين للوطن ليسهموا في خدمة وطنهم ونهضته وعلوه، مشيدًا بدعم سمو الأمير للجامعة ومنسوبيها ومتابعته لكل ما يسهم في تطورها وتقدمها وكل ما يسهم أيضًا في أداء واجبها الوطني، لافتًا إلى أن ذلك يعود إلى نهج سمو الأمير المتمثل في "العمل بروح الفريق الواحد" والذي يحث الجامعة بكافة مجالاتها على بذل كافة جهودها لتحقيق نهج سموه الكريم، آملاً أن تحقق  الجامعة تطبيق ذلك النهج في مختلف العلوم والفنون بما تملكه من خبرات وطاقات علمية.

واختتم السلمي كلمته بهمسة وداعية ورسالة محبة لأبنائه الخريجين أكد فيها على أن الوطن قد منحهم كل الدعم، ومن الواجب عليهم الوفاء له، والعمل من أجل رُقية، وقال " أنتم على موعد مع مهمات الشرف والوفاء وأنتم قادرون بحول الله على حمل الأمانة والوفاء بها".

بدوره ألقى عميد القبول والتسجيل الدكتور عبدالمحسن القرني كلمة أعلن من خلالها النتيجة العامة لخريجي الدفعة الـ21 من طلاب الجامعة، والذين بلغ عددهم 13450 خريجًا وخريجة من مختلف الدرجات العلمية، من خلال 29 كلية تحوي أكثر من 80 برنامجا أكاديميا صممت وفق معايير عالمية لتواكب التطور الذي تشهده المملكة في شتى المجالات.

وأبان القرني أن الجامعة مستمرة في أداء رسالتها فكما تودع اليوم كوكبة من الخريجين والخريجات تعد العدة لاستقبال أجيال قادمة من خريجي وخريجات الثانوية العامة لتسلحهم بالعلم والمعرفة، وأشار إلى أنه وبتوجيهات معالي مدير الجامعة بدأت عمادة القبول والتسجيل بالتواصل مع إدارة التعليم والمدارس المختلفة وإعطاء المحاضرات التوعوية و الإرشادية لمرحلة القبول القادم لمساندة أبنائنا وبناتنا الطلاب والطالبات في اتخاذ القرار المناسب عند تقديم طلب القبول.

ولفت إلى أن العمادة وبالتنسيق مع الكليات المختلفة تعمل عن قرب مع الطالب لمراقبة مسيرته التعليمية ومعالجة أي إخفاقات قد تواجه الطالب لتأخذ بيده وتوفر الدعم له لتوصله لما وصل إليه خريجو هذا اليوم، مهنئا إياهم بما حققوه من إنجاز في هذا اليوم داعيًا لهم بدوام التوفيق في مرحلتهم القادمة.

كما قدم الخريجون خلال الحفل أوبريتا بعنوان "طموح"، عقب ذلك كرم سمو الأمير الحاصلين على مراتب الشرف في مرحلتي الدكتوراه والماجستير، وفي نهاية التكريم قدم مدير الجامعة درعا تذكاريا بهذه المناسبة لراعي الحفل.

أيضاً شهد حفل تخريج الدفعة الـ21 تخريج عدد من طلاب المنح من جنسيات مختلفة، وفي ختام فقرات الحفل أعلن سمو أمير منطقة عسير تخرج الدفعة 21 والتقاط الصور التذكارية لهم مع سموه.

The Deanship of Scientific Research is hosting a conference 'The Impact of Research and Development Initiatives on Research in Saudi Universities and Economic Development' conference from 20 to 21 Rajab 1440H (27 to 28 March 2019). The conference was organized under the tutelage of His Royal Highness, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir Region. The purpose of the conference is to discuss strategies for using enhanced scientific research methods and advanced technology for national development initiatives under Vision 2030 and its appendant documents.

 

The Rector first thanked His Royal Highness for his patronage of the conference and continued support for King Khalid University. He then thanked all of the organizers and participants who made the conference possible. The Rector stated that 'a primary goal of the conference is to establish partnerships and exchange programs with other experts in a variety of scientific disciplines. These mutually beneficial exchanges will help increase our core research competencies and enhance the academic qualifications of our degree programs'.

 

Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, Dr. Saad Al-Amri, said that the Ministry of Education launched a series of research and development initiatives to promote scientific research in Saudi universities. This conference comports with the objectives of the Ministry’s objectives. The Ministry has the full backing of national leadership as evidenced by the 6 billion Riyal budget for program activities. About a year ago the Ministry of Education launched an 'International Cooperation Initiative' in Riyadh. This program was designed to promote and provide funding for partnerships between Saudi universities and international research centers in various scientific fields. These efforts strengthen international cooperation and supports scientific research strategies that are critical to Vision 2030 milestones and ultimate objectives.

 

The Dean of Scientific Research and the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, explained that the conference aims to highlight research and development capabilities in Saudi universities and develop research, developmental priorities, and implementation strategies. In addition, the conference evaluates best practices in research and implements same to existing and future projects in order to make domestic scientific research more efficient and effective. The Dean also stressed the importance of the strategic partnerships as encouraged under the Ministry of Education’s programs to raise the level of scientific research and development in the Kingdom. He further explained that these efforts will ultimately reap socioeconomic benefits for the entire nation. Having cutting edge research projects will grow domestic industry and allow government operations to become more efficient.

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, hosted a forum titled 'The Role of Assessments in Learning Outcomes'. The forum was organized by the College of Arts and Sciences in Ahad Rafidah. The purpose of the forum was to explore the various ways in which evaluation and assessment influences learning outcomes in higher education. The program also discusses the obstacles and challenges that occur in the test and evaluation process.

 

His Excellency focused his presentation on the importance of using assessments and evaluations to improve learning outcomes in academic programs. He noted that the Ministry of Education is also examining this issue to help improve education throughout the Kingdom. The Ministry and King Khalid University are acutely aware that higher education is an integral component of the national development and economic expansion plans. Therefore, continuous improvement of universities is a high priority at many levels. The Rector thanked the College of Arts and Sciences at Ahad Rafidah and its Dean, Dr. Salma Al-Gharabi, for organizing and hosting the forum.

 

Dr. Salma Al-Gharabi, thanked Rector Al Solamy for his support and sponsorship of the forum. She further explained that the university uses a variety of means, including this forum, to invest in the skills and capabilities of its faculty members and teaching staff. The Dean noted that nine working papers (both theoretical and practical) were presented at the forum. These papers were used to identify assessment and evaluation issues, and to consider various recommendations that can be used to achieve better learning outcomes.

 

Assistant Professor Huda Ibrahim Osman presented a scientific paper in which she reviewed the importance of having specifications in constructing achievement tests and measured learning outcomes. The main premise of her paper is that evaluation methods should be directly linked to measurable learning outcomes. Dr. Manal Mohammad presented a paper on the academic learning outcomes at King Khalid University. Her paper aimed to consolidate the concept of learning outcomes for academic programs.

 

The coordinator of the quality unit at the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Dr. Mai Al-Dessouki, presented a paper on the difficulty of quantifying learning outcomes of the courses at King Khalid University. The paper aimed to clarify the difficulties in measurement and suggestions for overcoming such obstacles. 

 

The coordinator of the assessment and evaluation unit at the Faculty of Humanities and Coordinator of the Assessment and Evaluation Center at the Female Students Section, Dr. Manna Al-Assal, presented a paper titled 'Assessment and Evaluation Center at King Khalid University- Between Reality and Hope'. The paper aimed to clarify the reasons for establishing the assessment and evaluation center. Next, Dr. Asmaa Farouk made a presentation about the challenges and proposed mechanisms to implement standards of assessment and evaluation in female colleges.

 

Dr. Fatima Amin, the coordinator of the assessment unit in the female section, along with Ms. Najat Abdul Majeed, of the Faculty of  Arts and Science at Dhahran Al Janoub presented a paper titled 'An Analytical Study of Achievement Test Results'. The paper aimed to analyze the reality of achievement test results.

 

The Head of Academic Development and Quality Unit at the College, Dr. Suhad Osman, presented a paper titled 'Assessment and Evaluation: Challenges and Proposed Solutions in the Community College in Khamis Mushait'. The paper aimed to identify the challenges and proposed solutions to the application of assessment and evaluation at the Community College in Khamis Mushait.

 

The head of the national and international performance assessment tests, Ms. Khairia Al-Duraimi presented a paper titled 'Assessment and Evaluation in  Light of National and International Tests', which aimed at introducing the different types of tests. 

 

At the end of the forum, Dr. Salma Al Gharabi conducted a discussion among female members of the faculty titled 'The Reality of Assessment and Evaluation from the Perspective of King Khalid University Faculty Members'.
