The Center for Talent, Creativity and Entrepreneurship sponsored a camp for prospective and budding entrepreneurs. Co-sponsoring the event was the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at). Vice Rector of Business and Knowledge Economy, Dr. Abdulatif Al-Hudaithi, represented the university at the camp, which was held at the main campus in Abha. The purpose of the camp was to support and encourage entrepreneurship in the Asir region.

In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Al-Hudaithi thanked the Center for all of its hard work and expressed his appreciation to the governmental authorities for its support and participation. He stated that entrepreneurship is an important element of economic development plans as set forth in Vision 2030.

Saudi universities have a critical and unique role in helping to create and support entrepreneurs as they transition from students to business owners. The Vice Rector noted that starting and running a small business is difficult. The university will assist entrepreneurs by encouraging creativity, embracing resiliency and providing technical support.

At the conclusion of the event, the Vice Rector presented 10 participants with awards for outstanding contributions in entrepreneurship.
