Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy Meets With the Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General

On 15 September 2020, Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdullatif Ibraheem Aludaithy, met with Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary-General, Dr. Riyadh bin Ahmed Al-Oqran This meeting was a follow-up to the commitments made between both parties on 10 September 2020. Vice Rector Aludaithy was introduced to the Chamber's business incubator and its role in supporting Abha's startup ecosystem. He was briefed on its services to young entrepreneurs to help them develop their ideas and projects. A meeting followed in which several goals in line with Vision 2030 that call for supporting entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises were discussed.

 

Vice Rector Aludaithy praised the support that King Khalid University received from the Kingdom's leadership in that they have provided the support and care to our academic and research programs supporting knowledge-based economies. He then noted that this is a key factor in growth, wealth creation, and employment because human capital is the driver of creativity and innovation.

 

Vice Rector Aludaithy then highlighted that King Khalid University will support the Chamber's business incubator through meaningful educational and research platforms that foster increased cooperation between universities, government institutions, and angel investors to deepen the startup ecosystem.
