University to launch Health, Awareness, and educational program

King Khalid University has launched the events of the 5th Health, awareness and educational program which takes place this year in Alharidh in Rejal Alma'e province on Sunday 9/5/1438 AH. 260 persons from the University's specialized, academic, administrative, and technical cadres are working on implementing the program. The event is being held from 8 to 13 Jumadh Al-Awal this year.

The Deputy General Supervisor of the program, who is also the General Supervisor of the committees, Dr. Fuad Abag, explained that the university with its staff are doing their best efforts to provide appropriate services to the people of Rijal Alma'e province in Tehama Asir. A number of colleges will participate in the events such as the Faculty of Sharia, the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, the College of Languages and Translation, and the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushayt in addition to the Deanship of community service Admissions Registration, and the Medical City,.

He added that the program contains 27 medical clinics; 10 dental clinics, in addition to other specialized clinics in pediatrics, dermatology, cardiovascular disease, as well as the Eye Clinic and rehabilitation of the interior ear and balance, back and neck injuries, in addition to a clinic for early screening for diabetes, women's clinics, a clinic to quit smoking and medical measurements, bandaging services, medical laboratories and X-ray and acoustic waves inspection.

Dr. Abag further clarified that the events will witness the participation of a number of service and operational activities, in addition to a number of mobile clinics and various types of needed appliances with a pharmacy containing more than 200 kinds of medicines. The program will provide lectures, visual presentations, training sessions, as well as field surveys, workshops, and speeches in the mosques of Rejal Alma'e province and its affiliated villages.

It is noteworthy that the university is seeking through this program to touch the needs of the community in various intellectual, health, and awareness fields, to deepen the relationship and partnership with the community, and to meet the multiple needs. Moreover, the move proves the University's belief in its important role towards the community in various fields. The KKU aim to progress our society and to urge people to take advantage of the services provided to them. The program comes at its fifth session, having achieved consecutive successes in the past four years in Tihama Qahtan, the province of Tathleeth, the province of Mahayel Asir, in addition to Majardh province.
