The University Celebrates Saudi and International Volunteer Day 2023

His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Falah bin Raja Allah Al-Solami patronaged  The "Saudi and International Volunteer Day 2023” event, which was organized by the University's Volunteer and Social Responsibility Administration at the Exhibition and Conference Center in the University City at the Al-Fara’a campus.

On this occasion, a workshop on the management and organization of volunteer work was conducted by Dr. Mousfer Al-Asmari, the supervisor of the Volunteer and Community Partnership Administration. He emphasized the importance of managing volunteer work and its significant role in contributing to social development.

The University's Vice President for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdulatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, explained that the university actively participated in the celebration of Saudi and International Volunteer Day by launching volunteer programs and activities. The university aimed to educate its staff and students, provide awareness messages, highlight outstanding volunteer work, and honor those involved.

Al-Hadithi added that the number of volunteers at King Khalid University reached 6,688 volunteers, with a growth rate exceeding 432% compared to the previous year. They contributed more than 350,000 volunteer hours according to the National Volunteer Platform data. He highlighted that the economic value of these volunteer activities exceeded 70 million Saudi Riyals. Throughout the year, 1,932 volunteer opportunities were offered, benefiting more than 60,000 individuals inside and outside the university. The satisfaction rate was 99%, and he encouraged everyone to participate in volunteer activities.

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency, the President of the University, honored volunteer coordinators, Hajj volunteers, and distinguished entities in the "Mubadiron4" project. The College of Applied Sciences in Abha received the first-place award for the best volunteer entity and received the volunteer flag. The Student Affairs Deanship ranked second, and the College of Science and Arts in Sarat Abidah ranked third.
