University Poets Crowned in Poetry Competition

On behalf of King Khalid University, and in collaboration with Abha Literary Club, the College of Arts and Humanities and the Deanship for students' affairs organized a poetry competition to commemorate the year of Arabic poetry 2023.   

The competition took place at the club's theater, where competitors displayed their poetic talents for a panel of judges, which included Dr. Ahmad Al-Tehani, Dr. Ibrahim Abu-Talib, and Dr. Lena Asiri.

The Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Khalid bin Saeed Abu-Hikma, and the President of Abha Literary Club, Dr. Ahmad Al-Moria' honored the winners of the competition. Abdullah Al-Qaisi won first place, followed by Abu-Baker Maron in second place, and Khatab Makhafah in third place. 

Students who participated in the "My Language, my Identity" initiative, which focused on correcting linguistic errors in advertisements, were also honored at the event. They corrected over 700 advertisement errors across Abha and Khamis Mushait.
