College of Education Organizes "Scientific Research Day"

On behalf of His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solami, and in the presence of the University Vice President, Prof. Mohammed bin Hamed Al Buhairi, the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou Al-Qarni, attended the Scientific Research Day event, which was recently organized by the College of Education at the University City in Al-Fara’a.

Al-Qarni emphasized the value of such a day in his speech, pointing the significance of scientific research in universities as it is a pillar of KKU's strategic plan, through which it seeks to promote research and innovation to meet social demands and future economics.

Al-Qarni also explained that the dedicated efforts done in the field of research are a reflection of the university's objective, which is centered on advancing it to a level that adds to KKU's history, reputation, and human cadres. He also inspected more than 70 research posters, during his tour of the accompanying exhibition.

On his part, Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Thabit bin Saeed Al Kahlan, discussed the college’s history since its founding in 1396AH, and its mission of achieving educational excellence locally, regionally, and internationally, adhering to quality and accreditation standards. Furthermore, the college seeks to prepare academically acclaimed human cadres, create high-quality educational research projects, develop educational programs, contribute to initiatives, implement modern technology, as well as providing training courses for the community.

During the event, Prof. Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Shahrani, Vice Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies, revealed the numbers of the Optimum Investment Program for Teaching Personnel represented in the higher diploma, which amounted to more than 600 teachers, and affirmed the college's significant role in developing curricula and supervising educational activities. In addition, the Department of Psychology plays a crucial role along with supporting those with special needs, serving sectors of Public Education, Social Affairs, and Psychiatric Clinics.

The event concluded with Al-Qarni honoring faculty members participating in the college's different programs, in addition to students who participated in the Scientific Research Day event.
