University Organizes Multiple Programs Commemorating World Mental Health Day

On Monday the 10th of October and on behalf of the University's Vice President of
Educational and Academic Affairs, the dean of the Deanship of Students Affairs Dr. Ali
Musfer Al-Qahtani, launched the university’s World Mental Health Day event at Mujan Park
Mall in Khamis Mushait. The event was organized by the Guidance and Counseling Center in
cooperation with the University's Club for Medicine and Creativity and Binrushd Medical
Center.


The event aimed to raise awareness of mental health problems, devote efforts to supporting
mental health, provide mental health services, and direct more attention to this global issue.


During the event, Al-Qahtani inspected the medical booths, which provided crucial
information on a number of mental disorders, such as anxiety, depression, autism,
Obsessive–compulsive disorder, Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, as well as
providing psychological counseling and first aid.


On his part, the Guidence and Counseling Center Director Abdullah Al-Druraim, stressed the
importance of raising awareness of mental health, noting that through this campaign, an
online mental health forum will be held with a group of specialists discussing a number of
topics including prevention of mental health disorders, mental toughness and resilience, life
quality, and other related topics. Moreover, a second online forum will be held to discuss
more issues surrounding mental health topics.
