The University President Attends the Awareness Meeting in the University Medical Center in Conjunction with the World Cancer Day

The President of King Khalid University, Prof.Falleh  bin Rajaa Al-Solami, attended  the opening of the World Cancer Day meeting, which was organized by the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, in cooperation with the Cancer Research Unit, at the university campus in Abha.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Solami stressed the importance of integrating the roles of the university’s authorities in implementing its goals and mission in serving the community and promoting scientific research in a way that serves the aspirations of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. His Excellency  praised  the efforts of the college students  in  contributing  to the awareness and education of our society.

 

The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, Dr. Majid bin Saad Al Fae, explained that  the college is keen to activate global health events and  days that align with the college specializations. He pointed that  the college students hold a great role in educating the community and spreading health  awareness among its members.

 

It is worth noting, that the meeting included sessions and an  exhibition displaying the  latest developments contributing to the detection and fight against cancer. In addition the Bee Research and Honey Production Unit, and the Student Activities Club at the college also participated in the event activities.
