More than 1,438 reviewers benefit from the Faculty of Medical Sciences Services at the University Camp, Tehama.

The School of Applied Medical Sciences of King Khalid University provided its serves to more than 1,438 cases in the second day of the 3rd Health, Awareness and Cultural Program of the University. It is worthy to know that the event is taking place in Tehama, Asir, and it is under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Asir region. Services which were presented by the School's clinics were in the areas of thyroid gland examination, blood sugar examination, cholesterol, as well as kidney functions examination, and physical therapy.

The Vice - President of the Faculty, Dr. Hussein Al Mohai said that most of the cases that were examined suffered from acute backache, followed by knee roughness, neck pain, and heel fork.  Dr. Al-Mohai also explained that the reasons behind the presence of such cases in such individuals were the nature of the area, including the difficult terrain, especially with the elderly who work in agriculture. In addition, the modern technology now in place, negatively impacts the younger generation when they deal with it wrongly. This is more so in terms of sitting wrongly, and other reasons that lead to such injuries. He added that the Faculty was involved in three sections, namely: Department of Diagnostic Radiology, thyroid examination, Physical Therapy Department, and the Department of laboratory. He said, "The clinics examined a large number of visitors and asked some cases to be reexamined and to get appropriate treatment. On the other hand, a number of serious cases were transferred to Mahayel General Hospital or nearby centers. Al Mohai expressed his happiness when he noticed the reviewers' satisfaction and pleasure who expressed their happiness about the presence of these services in their region. The Vice - President said, "The interest was not limited to visitors and reviewers, but also to the participating Faculty's students. They managed to follow-up the cases, the thing which could best be credited to the University, which came up with the beautiful beneficial idea leading to the establishing of such a program."
