King Khalid University Signs a Cooperation Agreement with King Abdulaziz Darah Foundation

King Khalid University signed a cooperation agreement with King Abdulaziz Foundation, at the headquarters of the University City in Abha "Greiger". In the signing the university was represented by His Excellency King Khalid University  President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Salami, while Al-Dara was represented by the Secretary-General in term , His Excellency Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Semari.

 

His Excellency the President of the University welcomed His Excellency Dr. Fahad Al-Semari, stressing that what distinguishes this agreement is the university research role  as well as its community service. Adding that through the establishment of a historical center the region will document its history and the most monumental events that have taken place in Asir region, assuring that with the expertise of the Darah foundation the project will receive the attention needed.

 

The Secretary-General of  King Abdulaziz  Darah in term, explained that Asir region is a region  rich in its history , and through joining efforts with the university the regions history and achievements are to be highlighted and commemorated, pointing that the  agreement was launched to be a reference for the history of this region and its achievements.

 

In addition to establishing a center for the history of the region at King Khalid University, the agreement included several areas of cooperation, including encouraging and conducting academic studies and research of common interest, providing opportunities for researchers from both parties and providing them with historical information, photographs and historical materials, as well as offering  training for  both parties, collaborating in  preparing and developing academic programs,  building  courses related to the Arabic language and its literature, history, civilization, heritage, social sciences, geographic information systems, documents, archives and community service.

 

The agreement also included cooperation and integration in the field of museums , Arabic calligraphy,  exchanging  visits between specialists and technicians from  the two parties, providing  technical support, joint cooperation in digital voluntary enrichment (Wiki Done), joint cooperation in the field of the (Saudipedia) project, in addition to, holding competitions for making documentary films and photographs revolving around  the memory of our homeland, exchanging databases through the sites available to both parties, supervising and assisting  business, initiatives and private charitable institutions related to the history and heritage of the region as organized, and cooperating in research activities or scientific events that serve our Saudi history, historical knowledge and research chairs.
