King Khalid University, represented by the Department of English at the College of Science and Arts in Ahad Rufaidah in collaboration with the Faculty of Languages and Translation, concluded its work on "Wiki Dawen" with the Saudi Center for Digital Content at King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah). The project was launched to enrich Arabic content on Wikipedia. The topics encompassed history, heritage, landmarks, and specific individuals and their biographies.

Dean of the College of Science and Arts at Ahad Rufaidah, Ms. Hoda Masoud, explained that 60 volunteer students translated more than 100 articles from English to Arabic in conformity with the relevant English and Arabic Wikipedia guidelines.

The project was represented by Reem Bint Naif Al-Mutairi, a Wikipedia editor. Head of the English Department at the College of Science and Arts at Ahad Rafidah, Ms. Samar Al-Ennimr, supervised the initiative. The articles were published after being approved and corrected by the moderators.

The project in total aims to enrich the national, Arabic, and Islamic content in Wikipedia. Thes workflow process mandates the presence of authentic references and accurate information. In all, this is a small step towards bridging the gap between Saudi Internet users and the percentage of digital content. It was highlighted that this project is in line with Darah's overarching goal to not preserve and publish digital educational materials on the history and civilization of Saudi Arabia.
