Yesterday, the College of Education concluded the Opportunity Investment During the Coronavirus Crisis Online Forum. A large number of faculty members and university employees both delivered and attended the online scientific sessions, which ran over the course of 3 days with 2 scientific sessions per day.

 

The first day of the forum covered two sessions. The first session, titled "Opportunity Investment and Crisis Positivity", was chaired by Prof. Abdullah Al-Khasi with the participation of Dr. Dafer Al-Hamad and Dr. Abdulrahman Alharthi. The second session, titled "How to Learn Online", was chaired by Prof. Ali Shetwi with the participation of Dr. Naif Jebli and Dr. Adel Gahahmesh.

 

On the second day, the first session, titled "How to Use Google Classroom in e-Teaching?", was chaired by Prof. Omar Aqeel with the participation of Dr. Ali Alharamla. The second session, titled " COVID-19 Crisis Management: Psychologically and Socially", was chaired by Prof. Yahya Alrafei with the participation of Dr. Gubran Mekhdei and Dr. Khadiha Al-Muadi.

 

The last day also covered two sessions, the first one, titled" Crisis Management Practices", was chaired by Prof. Nasser Alshahrani with the participation of Dr. Abdulaziz Alhajri. The last one, titled "Family Roles in Strengthening National Identity", was chaired by Prof. Mohammed Alshehri with the participation of Dr. Misfer Alwadei and Dr. Khedran Alshemi.

 

The forum brought forth several noteworthy recommendations and statements. They are as follows:

 

  • Establishing an educational, psychological, and technical consulting clinic to provide online services for university employees and the community;
  • Evaluating and reviewing crisis management plans and testing them under conditions similar to crisis situations;
  • The importance of positive guidance for children by their families in using apps and e-games;
  • The role of Islamic education in providing positive guidance during a crisis;
  • Making crisis planning an important part of strategic planning and investing in electronic educational platforms that serve to develop skills.
