In celebration of International Teachers' Day, which falls on October 5th, KKU faculty members shared their earnest appreciation and highlighted teachers' outstanding and integral role in shaping our future. "The teachers we need, for the education we want" is this year's celebratory slogan, affirming teachers' position and contribution to the Saudi Vision 2030. 

Dean of the College of Education, Prof. Thabit bin Saeed Al-Kahlan Al-Qahtani, expressed how this celebration comes in recognition of teachers' immense efforts and education's contribution towards the kingdom's future. This celebration symbolizes a pivotal step in educational progress and reminds us of teachers' central role. The kingdom puts great emphasis on education, which is reflected in its Vision 2030 developmental plans and human capital investments. 

Al-Kahlan pointed out, The Ministry of Education works to solidify teachers' role through this celebration, which is adopted by the United Nations, and represents a deep appreciation for teachers' message. 

He cited prophet Mohammad –Peace and Blessings be Upon Him- as an example of great teachers. "Being a teacher is to be an innovative leader who believes in the power of development and transformation". He concluded, "Teachers carry the noblest mission in history".

Professor of Curriculum and Methods of Teaching at the Faculty of Education, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Scientific Association for Teachers, Prof. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Kasi, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince for all the care and attention they provide for teachers. He thanked His Excellency, the Minister of Education, and His Excellency, the President of KKU for their outstanding support of the Saudi Scientific Association for Teachers.

Al-Kasi also sent his best regards to teachers' on this special day, and expressed his appreciation for teachers' message, their honesty, and their positive impact. He praised the Ministry of Education's efforts in raising the quality of education, and acknowledged all the programs and projects provided in support of the development of teachers, such as the National Center for Professional Educational Development and the Authority for Evaluation of Education and Training.  

Dr. Lubna bint Hussein Al-Ajmi, a faculty member at the College of Education at KKU, explained how teaching is not limited to transferring knowledge only, but extends to the teacher's ability to shape the values and behavior of students, teachers are capable of changing the trajectory of students' lives and can guide them to a bright future. Education is one of the most influential fields, so teachers should be aware of the latest developments and technologies in educational methods.
