The university, along with the active participation of numerous university employees, has reworked and developed its strategy to adapt it to the country's ambitious developmental plans, Vision 2030, and the Ministry of Education's National Transformation Program.
Al-Solamy explained that the university had decided to develop its strategic plan, based on its keenness to carry out relevant tasks that will achieve the university's aspirations and bolster the strategic themes of Vision 2030. He further emphasized that since the end of the previous strategic plan by the University in 2015, the Kingdom has undergone several changes. Most notably, the announcement by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on the comprehensive vision of the Kingdom and its executive programs that accurately reflect the strategic direction of the country. He further asserted that all state institutions should strengthen their role in drawing inspiration from this vision and actively re-formulate their strategies in accordance with this vision.

Owing to that fact, it has taken a number of practical steps to achieve this, namely, the formation of a supreme committee for the strategic plan, in addition to establishing a working team from various colleges to enhance the project's development.
Al-Solamy added that the developed strategic plan for 2018-2020 is based on a strong foundation of Vision 2030. For this reason, the University has put forth the following strategic visions:
