The University Council recommends establishing a new Department for Insurance and Actuarial Sciences

King Khalid University President and the Vice President of the University Council, Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Al Dawood headed the 4th meeting of the University Council for the study year 1434/1435 AH. His Excellency started the meeting praising Allah the Almighty  for the blessings then he thanked, on behalf of himself and all the university employees, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques who assigned a large budget to the university which is considered the largest all over the university history. Also, His Excellency urged everyone to collaborate to get optimally the  benefit of these resources in order to fulfill the vision of the wise leadership.    

After that, the Secretary of the University Council , Dr. Hamoud Abuzaar reviewed the topics on the meeting  agenda and he encouraged the council to give the approval of establishing Insurance and Actuarial Sciences Department at Administrative and Financial Sciences College as a desire of the  university to meet the needs of development and to direct its resources towards specialities needed in  labor market. The Council also advised to replace the name of educational Psychology Department at Education College by Psychology Department, in addition to the approval of Dr. Ayed Bin Ayed Al Shati’s scientific communication with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in order to increase the University's interaction with government institutions and ministries.  Dr. Ghasyan Ben Ali Grace’s sabbatical also has been approved for the next academic year 1435/1436 AH.

The council also approved adding extra four members from teaching staff to the council of Medicine College and Computer Sciences College in order to enrich discussions in the Colleges’ Councils and enable the largest number of the teaching Staff to take part in decision-making.
