The College of Engineering and the Engineering Club hosted a seminar titled 'Fog as a Sustainable Water Source in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia'. Vice Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Salem Algarni, presented the lecture to a large group of faculty and students. He discussed in detail the possibility of utilizing 'fog collection' to satisfy a portion of the nation's water demands. Water derived from fog is reliable, sustainable and cost-effective relative to other unconventional water sources.

Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ibrahim Idris Falqi, explained that the seminar aims to educate the attendees on the importance of utilizing natural and sustainable water sources in the Kingdom. He noted that the university pays great attention to environmental issues, especially the problem of serving an ever-increasing population with a reliable supply of fresh, potable water.
