University President Launches Architectural and Engineering Design Exhibition

His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami,
on yesterday, Tuesday, launched the Architectural and Engineering Design
Exhibition, which is organized by the Architecture and Planning Department at the
College of Engineering. The exhibition was held in the university city of Al-Qar'aa
with the participation of 150 students.

 

His Excellency toured the exhibition and inspected the presented projects by the
department's students, where 50 design and engineering projects were showcased.
Further, the submitted designs varied between designs for commercial, residential,
and administrative buildings, and a booth for heavy equipment, in addition to projects
in various engineering fields. Al-Solami also received a thorough presentation from
the participating students on their architectural designs and the goal of those projects,
commending the department students and their submitted work.

 

On his part, the Director of the Architecture and Planning Department, Dr. Ahmad Ali
Shohan, explained that the exhibition sheds light on students' projects in the
architectural design courses, noting that a number of professional practitioners from
governmental agencies and private sector were invited to the exhibition to help
arbitrate the department students' projects in order to be there a merge between theory
and practice.

 

It is worth noting that the exhibition aimed to promote the academic outcomes of the
Architecture and Planning Department students, expand their educational and
professional presence, and provide the chance for governmental and private bodies in
recruiting the department graduates.
