KKU's College of Engineering and SARS Launch Radio Telescope

College of Engineering at King Khalid University, and the Saudi Society for Radio Amateurs (SARS), launched the Radio Telescope in the presence of the President of the Society, His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Fahd Al-Faisal Al Saud, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Muhammad Khalofa Al Misfer.

A speech by His Royal Highness opened the ceremony, where he urged students and employees to benefit from the telescope's capabilities in space sciences, stressing that the telescope serves not only engineering disciplines but also other scientific disciplines in the Colleges of Science and Computer Science.

Dean of the College of Engineering thanked the president and the society's members for their keenness to advance students and the public's knowledge of space science, emphasizing that this telescope is one of the initiatives of the educational Cubesat project, which started in 2022 and sought to increase awareness and train students in Space science techs. Consequently, the Radio Telescope was officially launched and began capturing radio signals from the galaxy.

It is worth mentioning that the ceremony saw the presence of the deans of the College of Engineering, a number of faculty members, students, and members of SARS.
