His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Salami, made an inspection tour to the building of the Community College in Mahala. The tour took place yesterday - Monday 14 / 10 / 1437AH. His Excellency the Rector was received by His Excellency the Vice Dean of Community College, Dr. Ali Al-Marzouk, and a number of employees of the College.

At the beginning of the tour, a brief introduction about the college and its facilities was presented. The introduction showed that the college includes more than 4,000 students; community service students, and joint programs, in addition to Dhahran Al-Janoub province students. The college also contains several vital facilities such as computer labs and English language labs, in addition to the scientific disciplines labs, e-learning, a gym, a theater with more than 1,000 chairs, and a mosque.

After that, Rector Al Salami made a tour to all the college's facilities and made a call for the need to run the university restaurant, to renew it and to re-create its services and facilities so as to be able to serve the maximum number of students. He pointed to the need for rapid completion of the project so as to serve the summer semester students in the current period, and all the students at the beginning of the next academic year. Rector Al Salami was also briefed on the college library services, where he insisted on the need to ensure the availability of all references needed by college students, in addition to the need for activating the role of the digital library.

The Rector also stressed on the need to improve the internet networks services in the college, in addition to the provision and the creation of special safety systems in all college labs, conditioning, and maintenance of the building in general.

At the end of the tour, the Rector visited the gym building and checked on the construction work, on which he stressed on the need to adhere to the date of delivery of the buildings at the time.

His Excellency the Rector paid tribute to all the college's stakeholders for their unwavering efforts, saying that the observations on the building and its facilities were few and do not constitute an obstacle to the project. He said, "All the departments of the university have to cooperate with the college to fulfill its needs and requirements."

The Rector stressed on implementing those tasks before the beginning of the next academic year. He added, "We must decide on the maintenance work from the beginning of next week, and colleagues at the college should provide us with reports of what is being done of these actions on a regular basis until it is completed." He further explained that he would pay another inspection visit to the building at the beginning of the academic year.
