His Excellency the President of King Khalid University Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Dawood received today in his office the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Rolf Willy Hansen, who is on an exploratory tour of Asir region. On his turn, President Al Dawood welcomed Mr. Rolf Hansen, praising the bilateral relations that combine the two Kingdoms. The President further thanked the Ambassador for his initiative to visit the university.

During the meeting, President Al Dawood and Mr. Rolf Hansen exchanged friendly talks and discussed issues of mutual interest. In addition, President Al Dawood gave a brief introduction of King Khalid university to the Ambassador. The President and University Vice - President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Majid Al Harbi also discussed with the Ambassador the ways of cooperation with respect to various scientific areas for universities. Moreover, they discussed the possibility of expansion in the future, the cooperation frameworks between the King Khalid University and its Norwegian counterparts.

For his part, Mr. Rolf defined the available research centers in the Kingdom of Norway, explaining how to find ways to achieve cooperation with research centers at King Khalid University. It is worth mentioning that the Norwegian universities are characterized by their progress in the field of oil and engineering studies, which may enable the King Khalid University to achieve a quantum leap in these areas in case of opening channels of cooperation with the Norwegian Universities in the future.
