University Nursing Faculty to raise awareness of Hypertension and Diabetes conditions.
King Khalid University represented by the Faculty Nursing has conducted awareness day on Diabetes and Hypertension conditions. The occasion of the day was implemented in Girls Community Faculty in Khamis Mushayt under the slogan: Yes for health and life.. No for Diabetes and Blood Pressure. Its aim is to raise awareness of the seriousness of these conditions, how to treat them, ways of preventing them, as well as to raise awareness of the importance continuous follow - up in health matters, in order to detect early any health problems before the condition gets worse.
The day started with an educational lecture on Diabetes, presented by Dr. Haya Abu Alazaim. In the lecture, the doctor addressed the causes of the condition, its symptoms, its treatment, and how we could protect ourselves from it. Another academician, Dr. Kawther Altayeb, also presented another lecture about Hypertension case, displaying everything related to the condition. After that the campaign members delivered a practical course, which was divided into four sections: a corner for measuring blood pressure, another corner for measuring diabetes, and another for measuring weight and for calculating body mass, in addition to the awareness corner, which provided answers for attendees' inquiries.
It is noteworthy that the event has witnessed a large turnout represented in the attendance of more than 200 students, Nursing Faculty stakeholders, and teaching staff.
