Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and 3D environments all merge in this new project launched by the Deanship of E- Learning. They call it the Metaverse Learning Lab, a wide social network that turns traditional digital learning into an interactive, innovative, and exciting experience.

"Using VR technology in education can improve students' learning and comprehension in a variety of topics. VR technology simulates real classroom environment, and allows students to explore and interact with it". Dean of the E- Learning Deanship, Dr. Adel bin Ibrahim Qahmash explains.

He added, "VR labs can also be used in training, a service that can be provided in many field, like medicine, engineering, and piloting. Interactive virtual training can be completed from the safety of the lab to minimize any possible danger. Another application of this service is virtual educational field trips that schools and universities can use to enrich students' understanding of history, science, and art, and visit places that are inaccessible otherwise".

Qahmash explains, "Remote learning can immensely benefit from VR technology. Students can use it to attend life-realistic virtual classes". He adds, "This technology is improving steadily, and with this continued development, comes better communication and improved quality of education ".

The Deanship of Digital Learning reached many milestones and achievements recently. Most notably, it earned two awards from the National Center for Digital Learning earlier this week.
