King Khalid University recently announced that it will greatly ease some scholarship student requirements for spring 2020 and beyond by approving exceptional procedures submitted by the Scholarships and Training Committee, saying that disruption to studies during the coronavirus crisis calls for increased flexibility.

The move, authorized by the University Council, will relax the rules and regulations that stipulate physical presence. Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Saad Alamri, noted that the university is very keen to support our scholars who are now studying under dramatically different – and, for many, highly stressful – circumstances. Vice Rector Alamri commended the efforts of the Kingdom's wise leadership and responsible authorities who are ensuring the safety and security of citizens around the globe. He then highlighted the exceptional procedures as follows:

  • Scholarship students abroad will be able to study online;
  • Scholarship students abroad will be able to return and continue to study online if they choose to do so;
  • Scholarship students may postpone studies for 1 semester if they choose to do so;
  • Expenses will not be suspended in cooperation with the Saudi Cultural Attache Office.
