His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdul Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Dawood, praised the arbitrated researches and exerted efforts. It was during the opening of the events of the 10th Annual Scientific Research Day in the Central Stand at the University City, Al-Jrejir.
He confirmed that scientific research is an important pillar and essential to any University. He said, "I am pleased with what I saw of achievements which are considered a source of pride for every member of the University. I'd like also to thank the Dean of Scientific Research in the University, Dr. Eid bin Lafi Al-Otaibi, faculty members, and students (male and female) who participated and contributed in this scientific celebration."
He pointed out, during his speech to the on-going support the University enjoys from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Crown Prince and the Crown Deputy Prince, and His Highness the Prince of the Asir region. He also clarified that the university moves steadily towards excellence globally due to the efforts of the academic staff who oversees the university in all its events and celebrations.
In this regard, the Dean of Scientific Research at King Khalid University, Dr. Eid Bin Lafi Al-Otaibi, during his speech at the opening ceremony clarified that scientific research is the lifeblood of academic education in educational institutions, as the scientific research that is organized by the Deanship of Scientific Research at the University is considered one of the key elements in the development of scientific research system which is one of the most fundamental pillars. It reflects the participation of faculty members, and the Graduate Studies students in scientific research over nine consecutive years.
Al-Otaibi also explained that the number of researches that participated in the 8th Day reached 36 researches, in addition to 100 posters. The number of researches on the 9th Day reached 57 researches, and 74 posters. The researches on the 10th Day, which the University celebrated this year 1435 AH, reached 43 researches, and 200 posters. The Dean showed that this experiment is the first in the Saudi universities that are held on this size and timing.
He emphasized that the university this year has enough potentials that could encourage faculty members and students through this event. He urged to publish scientifically 50% of these scientific papers which were presented over two days to support the desire of the university to increase the scientific publishing.
He concluded revealing the university reception to the 3rd Qualitative Research Project, which exceeded the previous experiments over three years. He added that the university will participate with a scientific paper at the meeting which will include the Deans of Scientific Research. It is expected to hold this project on next Wednesday and Thursday at the city of Taif.
