King Khalid University's 6th Health Awareness Program welcomed more than 700 patients from Belasmar and its neighboring villages into medical clinics located in the Belasmar Center.
The number of cases treated in the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences clinics peaked at roughly 400, while the number of cases treated in the dentistry clinics peaked at approximately 350 cases. The Faculty of Dentistry also held lectures on the importance of dental and oral hygiene for adolescents and school children.
The clinics in the program included a Family Medicine Clinic, an Internal Medicine Clinic, a Pediatrics Clinic, a Dermatology Clinic, an Otolaryngology Clinic, a Back and Neck Injury Clinic, and a General Nutrition Clinic. The Dental Clinics in the program offered expanded services that included but were not limited to fillings and surgery. In addition to the comprehensive services provided above, specialized consultative medical services were offered that included an Obstetrician Clinic, a Gynecology Clinic, a Smoking Cessation Clinic, and a mobile pharmacy containing in excess of 200 over-the-counter and prescription medications.
The program also comprised Islamic awareness and general education lectures in the centers of Belasmar, Belahmar, Tanuma, and the surrounding villages.
