His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Falah bin Raja Allah Al Solamy, patronized the Ceremony of National Day and the reception of first-year students. The ceremony was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in the presence of many university vice-deans as well as deans. His Excellency inaugurated the accompanying exhibition as well.
On this occasion, Al Solamy said, “It is such a pleasure to meet you today, to celebrate our great national day again which was a few days ago. We celebrate this day every year to thank God that He helped our Founding King, HRM Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, ‘may God rest his soul in peace,' in the unification of this great nation. I welcome you as you continue his career of success and add to it. You are the bright and rich future by God’s Will.”
Following after was Vice President of Academic and Educational Affairs, Dr. Saad bin Du’ajim, who said, “We are experiencing the joy of our national day, and we are asking God to perpetuate our security and protect the future of our generations. We are pleased to welcome all new students." In his words, he emphasized that the freshmen should understand the university rules and regulations.
The celebration of the national day was accompanied by the launch of the hashtag (وطن خالد) which means ‘Immortal Homeland.' During the Immortal Homeland launch, many members of university expressed words of loyalty and belonging. In this regard, a blood donation campaign was also held for the heroes of the southern border.
It is noteworthy that the ceremony was accompanied by an exhibition, in which many university faculties and deanships participated. Through the exhibition, various events and programs were presented to the new students. In addition, they were provided with guidance in order to help them solve all academic issues and answer their questions and queries.
