King Khalid University, represented by the Admissions and Registration Deanship and through its portal, has received the more than 20,000 registration requests for the coming academic year 1438/1439. The first stage of admission ended as it was available for a month from 10/10/1438 to 10/11/1439 AD.
The Deanship will begin the selection and nomination stage for the applicants in the first stage whose percentages in the qualified or balanced percentage are more than 80%. Nominations for accepted applicants will be for 130 specialties distributed over 29 colleges.
The Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Qarni, clarified that the nomination process would continue for three stages starting from the current month and for ten days. Applicants will be nominated, and then the Deanship will receive their consent on the disciplines for which they have been nominated. The process will be accomplished electronically without the applicants’ need to review with the Deanship. Dr. Al-Qarni said, “The Deanship has provided a system of electronic requests that could receive and answer the applicants' requests electronically. The new service indeed saved time and effort, and at the same time it helped the applicants a lot as they find a reliable resource for information.”
Dr. Al-Qarni further asserted that the admission of this year had been accomplished based on the new structure of the University colleges which has been recently approved by the University Council and by the supreme committee of Education Ministry. The corresponding disciplines are integrated between the female and male sections of the same faculty, which in turn contributes positively to the compatibility of the program names with the requirements of the labor market. The new structure also adopted the activation of some new disciplines in the faculties of the university, such as the specialization of business administration and computer sciences at the University branch in Mohayil.
He pointed out that the University continues to review the disciplines periodically and studies plans to develop them commensurate with the labor market and the requirements of the next phase of Vision 2030.
