,Under the slogan "A renewed teacher for a changing world"
The Minister of Education, His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Al-Issa, is sponsoring the first International Educational Conference, entitled "The teacher and the era of knowledge: Opportunities and Challenges", Under the slogan "A renewed teacher for a changing world." The Conference is organized by King Khalid University in Abha, to be represented by the College of Education. It will take place from 29 / 2 / 1438 AH to 1 / 3 / 1438 AH, corresponding to 29 / 11 / 2016 AD to 30 / 11 / 2016 AD.
The Rector of King Khalid University, His Excellency, Pro. Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solamy, who will be the General Supervisor of the conference, has valued the Education Minister's sponsorship of the conference, which comes within the Ministry's concern of supporting activities and scientific programs at the university. His Excellency, Rector Al Solamy, stressed that the conference aims to develop teacher preparation in the programs of the colleges of education, in line with renewable needs with the requirements of the era of knowledge. It also aims at emphasizing the role of the teacher in graduating conscious and cultured generation, as well as in the graduation of qualified cadres of scientists, experts, intellectuals, and teachers of the future, and to benefit from Arab and foreign outstanding expertise in formulating visions and effective approaches in the field of teacher's preparation and development professionally.
For his part, the Vice - President for Educational and Academic Affairs, who will play the role of the Head of the organizing committee of the conference, Prof. Mohammed bin Ali Al Hassoun, has confirmed that the conference proves the King Khalid University's belief in its educational role at the local, regional, and international levels. He pointed out that, "the conference of teacher and the era of knowledge: Opportunities and Challenges, includes a selection of the researchers involved in the educational field"
In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Education, who is the Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, Dr. Abdullah Al Kasey, has explained that the Scientific Committee was surprised by athe large number of requests for participation from within and from outside of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; More than 502 abstracts and worksheets were submitted, of which 177 have been approved, and after sorting out, they formed 67 research and worksheets from 15 Arab, Islamic and international states. Dr. Al Kasey added that the conference was going to be accompanied by scientific and training workshops from within and from outside of the university for students and teachers. The workshops will hosting a number of experts working in the field of education.
