King Khalid University Newspaper "Afaq", has issued a special edition for Saudi Arabia's vision 2030. The edition came in 40 pages. This edition dealt with the project of vision 2030 in a comprehensive, analytical ways, and from an academic point of view that is compatible with the vision of the King Khalid University (KKU) in various academic levels. Also appeared in the edition are comprehensive graphics (infographic) to explain and clarify the content of the vision.
The General Supervisor and editor in chief of the Newspaper, Dr. Ali bin Shuweil Al-Qarni, has explained that as part of the university's, and the Newspaper's keenness on the major events in the country, the Afaq Newspaper was keen on contributing on the project of the Saudi Arabia - Vision 2030 - through a special edition, to be the first university and non-university newspaper that discussed the Vision 2030 in all its pages, in a holistic, integrative, exceptional and analytical manner.
The newspaper tackled the Vision 2030 project since the issuance of the cabinet approval, and the permission of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, and the Deputy Crown Prince, His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz - may God protect them all. Furthermore, the last edition of the Newspaper addressed the three axes of the vision, which are a dynamic society, a booming economy, and the country of ambition, in addition to discussing all other development plans and executive programs.
The edition also included the word given by His Royal Highness, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz - the Governor of Asir region - while marking the declaration of vision 2030, and describing the project as a quantum leap in the map of the Saudi economy. The edition of the Newspaper also included the word of the Rector of KKU, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, who praised the implications that the vision included, noting that it was a crucial period in the history of the national economy.
A number of agents and deans of the university also praised the vision, and its contents, noting that the vision reflects the bright future of the nation, and at the same time stressing the responsibility of everyone towards the achievement of the Vision. The students of the university also praised the vision project, stressing that it would achieve a promising future which would have diverse sources of income.
It is noteworthy that the "Afaq" Newspaper is a weekly issued university newspaper, and it is unique in being the first university newspaper that is printed in Web system like the daily newspapers. Each week, Afaq Newspaper distributes 45,000 copies within and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it traces a novice vision and system in the Output tab, providing spaces for the opinions of the students of the university.
