His Excellency the Rector of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, has recently received at his office His Excellency the assigned President of Bisha University, Dr. Mahdi Al-Qarni, and his accompanying delegation.
Rector Al Dawood welcomed His Excellency the President of the University of Bisha, and congratulated him on assigning to him the management of the university. Prof. Al Dawood referred to his optimism of what Bisha University is providing, despite being one of the emerging universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Rector Al Dawood said, "Bisha University out performed many of its emerging counterpart universities."
Rector Al Dawod also expressed his admiration for the achievements of Bisha University in a number of areas, particularly regarding financial and administrative systems. He added, "The Bisha University has achieved many successes in various fields, thanks to God, and to the efforts of its employees, who represent an effective positive energy, a fact that cannot be denied."
The Rector stressed that the King Khalid University's doors are open for the emerging University of Bisha, and KKU will not mind to strengthen cooperation with the Bisha University, in order to promote it, and to support all that would enhance higher education in the region. The Rector of King Khalid University showed his appreciation to the keenness of His Royal Highness, the Governor of Asir Region, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, on any matter regarding the two universities.
Also, His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, pointed out that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud - may God protect him – had created an unforgettable development by establishing the Bisha University, and also by creating conditions for its independence from the King Khalid University. The Rector said, "I visited his office, may God protect him, when he was the Crown Prince, and I explained to him then, the need of separating Bisha University from KKU. I also discussed with him the difficulties that we faced in the Ministry of Higher Education and in the Ministry of Finance at the time regarding its independence. The then Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques - may God protect him - assured me something would be done regarding that issue, and only within a few months later, a resolution was issued to establish Bisha University as an independent Saudi University, and not under any other university"
In his turn, His Excellency Dr. Mahdi Al-Qarni, the assigned President of the Bisha University, in his name, and on behalf of the employees of Bisha University, thanked His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University for his efforts in the establishment of the Bisha University. Dr. Al-Qarni said, "We came to thank Your Excellency for your efforts in the development and establishment of our university, and we seek your support and experience to enable the young university reach the ranks of the prestigious universities in the Kingdom." Dr.Al-Qarni added, "Bisha University's strength comes from the University of King Khalid, and it will always seek the assistance of the mother of our university, in various fields"
