Under the patronage of the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, the Vice - Presidency for Development and Quality has held a ceremony to launch of a number of electronic services, which in turn will be expected to contribute to the development of the university's electronic performance, and to provide many services to the employees of the university.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Vice - President for Quality and Development, Dr. Ahmed Aljbaili, explained, in his speech, that the university announced its distinguished strategic plan, being aware of the challenges that may encounter. And by virtue of its holdings of leadership experiences that would facilitate all difficult stuff, the University is achieving many leaps on the national and international levels and has achieved many awards and recognition. Dr. Aljbaili added that the university jumped and overtook many similar national institutions, which preceded the University in establishment.
After that, Rector Al dawood launched a number of e-Projects to join other electronic services offered by the university for its employees including academicians, staff, and students. The projects include activating quality management system project; a project to achieve the university's vision, mission, and objectives to reach excellence by drawing a strategic plan to guide and to coordinate all the university plans and activities. Its business scopes are education, scientific research, and community service, and in the framework of national and international competitiveness. On the sidelines came the issue of the electronic certification management system, which is an institutional academic official adoption system, and which - in general - combines units of the University and administrative systems through specific criteria and programmatic accreditation. It is about an independent adoption of each program in the light of the special program criteria.
Managing accreditation at the level of King Khalid University targets 34 colleges, through 43 bachelor degree programs, as well as graduate programs, so as to be a strategic plan to follow up the levels of progress at the level of initiatives, projects, objectives, and activities, and to identify obstacles, if any; and then to take appropriate decision to achieve excellence of the University.
Rector Al Dawood also launched 16 new e-services that aimed at serving students, faculty members, employees of the university, and the community. They were represented in a gate for the graduates, and the smart guide, field education, the e-release, academic employment, software and applications platform, electronic nutrition system (barcode system), operation and maintenance complaints, upgrades system, internship students, in addition to skills system, which takes care of submitting requests on training courses for employees of the university, scientific journals, academia for mobile phone, as well as automated guidance for students system, e-card, and the platform of Bayt.com to recruitment.
The Rector thanked the Vice - Presidency for Development and Quality, and all departments working to ensure the success and activation of these programs. He said, "The support of our government, and that of His Royal Highness, the Governor of Asir region, is a clear evidence on the progress of the university, and on the delivery of services to our beloved nation." Rector Al Dawood explained, "if we look at - for example – Enjaz program, we could notice that the program has saved the university a lot in financial terms, in addition to in effort and in energy, and its contribution to the completion of several transactions, especially since the university has been getting wider." The Rector continued, "in the past, it used to take several days to complete transactions that were received from provincial branches, and today - thankfully – they are accomplished in a matter of minutes. "
It is worth mentioning that the sixth measurement indicator in Yasser program for e-government transactions showed outstanding results for King Khalid University, which managed to climb to the stage of excellence among 160 government entities in the country.
