His Excellency the King Khalid University (KKU) President, Prof. Abdulrahman Bin Hamid Al dawood yesterday received in his office, his Excellency the Chef Editor of Al-Watan Newspaper, Dr. Othman bin Mahmoud Alsini, and his Deputy, Mr. Majed Albasam. At the beginning of the meeting, President Al dawood welcomed the guests, stressing the important role of media in various fields. He said,"Al-Watan Newspaper is unique in its wide spreading professionalism." Moreover, the University President presented a detailed explanation about the KKU mission and goals, and how the University directs its programs and activities to the community services.
President Al dawood made reference to the Student's Rights Unit, which is considered a mini court. The Unit has been established in the University to look at the students' complaints, and to spread the culture of regaining rights according to lawful bodies that are set to respect all sides that may have a dispute to settle. through the various media tools within the University and outside it. President Al dawood clarified, "the student has the right, through this channel, to complain about any official of the University, including the President"
On the occasion, Dr.Othman Alsini praised the vital role of the KKU in all areas, not only in the region but in the whole Kingdom as well. He also praised the high level of achievements made by the KKU when it occupied advanced places in the worldwide rankings of universities. Dr. Alsini further praised the media role of the KKU, represented in Afaaq Newspaper which is considered the first of its kind at the level of the university newspapers. The meeting also included a discussion on many issues that are of concern to the both sides, such as conducting a cooperation agreement that will definitely benefit the two sides.
