His Excellency the President of King Khalid University Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Dawood yesterday sponsored the conclusion ceremony of the Sportive Olympiad events, which took place in the University City Headquarter in Abha. The ceremony witnessed the final football match which was between the faculties of Sharia and Dentistry, amid the presence of a large audience. The Faculty of Sharia succeeded in winning the league with a score of 3-1. In addition, the Faculty of Sharia won the Olympiad Award for the year after receiving the highest number of points in all the games. Its points reached 372 point. In the second place came the Faculty of Medicine, which achieved 331 points. Faculty of Computer won the third place after collecting 324 points.
For his part, the Rector of the university expressed his pleasure towards the positive results achieved by the Olympiad, which were directed to all the university students. The Rector added that it was clear the competition was fair through all tournaments. He said, "I hope to hold this Olympiad and these competitions over the coming years and to discover more sports talents that abound in the university." The Rector further thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs for its obvious ongoing efforts. He also thanked the holders of the Olympiad and all of the committees that have contributed to its success.
For his part, the Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Merra Al Habash explained that the successes of the Olympiad were as a result of the guidance and follow-up of the Rector. He added that holding such activities was a sign of the university's direct support of all activities that would indeed contribute to the progress of the overall educational process. He said, "We will, God willing, study all the obstacles and negatives that were encountered in this Olympiad, in order to avoid them in the coming seasons." He added, "This year, The Sportive Olympiad included 10 competitive games, but we are determined, God willing, to arrange more next season, and we are working on the discovery of more talented students, that is the goal of the establishment of this activity."
