The Governor of Asir region, head of its development authority, His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, patronaged the graduation ceremony of the 26th batch 1445AH, with over 11,000 graduates. The ceremony was held at the sports stadium in the university city in Al-Fara’a.
In his efforts towards guaranteeing the safety of students and attendees His Royal Highness directed the branch of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics in Asir to launch traffic at the intersection linking King Khalid University and Abha International Airport to facilitate the arrival of students to the university.
His Royal Highness was welcomed by King Khalid University Acting President, Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dajam, university vice presidents, deans of colleges and deanships, and heads of government departments, in the presence of over 40,000 students and their families. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Saudi National anthem, followed by a recital from the Holy Quran.
After that, various visual performances, and folklore shows were presented, reflecting the story of success, development and growth witnessed by the region, followed by a film entitled “the dream came true, Khalid,” which details the last moments of university education for student “Khalid”.
This was followed by a speech by the Acting President of the University, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, in which he praised the patronage of His Highness for the graduation ceremony.
He directed his speech to the graduates, saying, “Dear graduates, today marks a new chapter and a new age has begun. Your country and your region expects and anticipates your success, as it embarks on a journey of global excellence. Take initiative, have confidence in yourself and your abilities, and do not hesitate to express your creative spirit. Be certain of the university’s support of you, as it stands beside you, so walk with god’s blessing to take Asir towards global excellence.

A speech was given to the graduates, delivered on their behalf by the student Abdul Mohsen Al Obaid and the student Saja Abu Ajama, in which they expressed their joy and happiness in reaping the fruits of their labor, as they continue to seek knowledge to serve the nation and our leadership, expressing their gratitude to our kingdom, to the university, to their families.
To conclude the ceremony, His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal honored the students, and a number of distinguished guests of honor who made an immense contribution during their work at the university.
