The Coordinating Council for Saudi Universities’ Endowments concluded its 18th meeting on Thursday, December 28. 2024. The meeting was held by King Khalid University over the span of two days and was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, and the Governor of the General Authority of Endowments, Mr. Emad Al-Kharashi. In attendance were representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Head of the Secretariat of the Coordinating Council of Trustees of Saudi Universities’ Endowments from the College of Tabuk, Dr. Mohammad Al-Shekhi, alongside representatives of Saudi universities’ endowments.
The Advisor and Secretary-General of King Khalid University Endowments, Prof. Omar Al-Mushait highlighted the role of endowments in community contribution, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. He added that these efforts lead to sustainable national development projects, and pointed out the role of universities in social enhancement and awareness through various social programs. Al-Mushait added, that these meetings illustrate the need for strong infrastructure with high governance in the field of endowments, according to the regulations of endowments in universities.
To conclude his statement, he expressed his sincere appreciation for His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University for his continued support. He also thanked the participants, (His Excellency, the Governor of the General Endowments Authority, the representatives of the Ministry of Education, the head of the secretariat of the Coordinating Council of Trustees of Saudi Universities Endowments, the universities’ representatives, and the participants from the government, private, and non-profit sectors).
Various crucially important topics were discussed at the meeting, including the rules and regulations of university endowments, university endowment companies, and sustainable investment.
It is worth noting that a dedicated meeting was also held between the General Authority of Endowments and the Coordinating Council for Saudi Universities Endowments.
