His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-
Solami, honored, yesterday evening, the Deanship of E-Learning’s team for their
efforts in achieving 4th place in the Open Education Global 2022 competition. This
achievement was a result of the deanship’s excellence in the E-Lab platform, which is
specialized in virtual laboratories. They were also commended for receiving the
Shield of Excellence Award from Anthology in the field of digital transformation in
education.
Al-Solami, applauded the Deanship of E-learning for their efforts, which resulted in
the university's excellence in this field and obtaining international awards, which
reflect the true level of efficiency of the university's e-learning system.
On his part, the Dean of the E-Learning Deanship, Dr. Adel Qahmash, explained that
the Deanship is always striving for excellence in the fields of digital transformation
and e-learning and that is through implementing modern electronic technologies to
enhance the access of educational materials beyond the boundaries of the traditional
educational classroom.
Qahmash, added that the deanship recieved an OLC award for the year 2022, in
addition to the Blackboard Catalyst Awards - Education & Learning Branch- which is
concerned with improving the student experience by managing the best learning tools
for the educational system and creating a leading educational environment to serve
students and faculty members at peak efficiency.
It is worth noting, that the Open Courses channel obtained the silver YouTube trophy,
as the number of subscribers to the channel exceeded 460,000, achieving more than
60 million views. It is an educational channel, which depends on the content of
academic majors and is an important source for e-learning seekers from all over the
world.
