King Khalid University’s first scientific forum in science and art "Current Challenges
& Orientations" concluded its activities. The forum was organized by the Applied
College in Rijal Alma' over a period of 2 days.
The forum supervisor, dean of the College of Science and Art and vice-dean of the
Applied College in Rijal Alma', Dr. Siham Haidar, explained that the forum covered a
number of topics in the field of science, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine
learning, internet of things (IoT), network and information security, mobile
computing, data mining, image processing, as well as software engineering. On the
other hand, the forum discussed multiple topics in the field of accounting challenges,
applied economic studies, banking, finance, business engineering, engineering
economics, auditing information security, portfolio management, language and
technology education, literature, as well as communicative English language for
business and tourism.
The most prominent recommendations addressed by the forum, Al-Haidar added,
were the importance of activating the machine's role in education and to be included
within the fields of AI, in addition to activating computing codes in IoT with the aim
of finding solutions to challenges faced. The forum also recommended implementing
graduation projects, which are aligned with the demands of the labor market and
community, as well as activating the role of electronic learning, represented in
integrated education to attract students. Lastly, the scientific forum recommended
establishing monitoring agencies in order to evaluate policies and regulations
regarding risk management.
It is worth noting, that the forum received great attention from students and faculty
members who participated through graduation projects, scientific posters, and
research papers.
