Under the patronage of His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, King Khalid University celebrated World Teacher's Day. The event was organized by the College of Education in collaboration with the Saudi Teacher Association (Jism) under the slogan (Transformation in Education Begins with the Teacher). Among the attendees of the event was the Director General of the General Administration of Education in Asir region, Dr. Ahmed Khadran Al-Omari, in addition to a number of university employees and representatives from the education sector in Asir region.
In his speech His Excellency the University President, affirmed the care and support devoted to teachers by our wise leadership, stressing that teachers receive perpetual attention throughout their career. He noted that celebrating teachers this year came under the slogan “Transformation in Education Begins with the Teacher”, to embody teachers' importance and also to confirm that teachers carry distinguished roles in creating the future.
On his part the Dean of the College of Education Prof. Thabit Al Kahlan, explained that celebrating World Teacher's Day this year comes to highlight the teachers' role in transforming the potentials of students. He added that on this occasion the college is also proud to announce obtaining academic accreditation for 5 programs, 3 of which are in the Ph.D. level and 2 in the master’s level, which confirms the university’s keenness to support programs that serve the educational field and enhance the performance of teachers in the region.
The event was concluded by honoring a number of schools in Asir region for their outstanding management and use of the students' distance education program "Teams".
