During the university's health and awareness program at Tuhama in Asir, the Dean of Medical College of King Khalid University discovers a rare condition and completes the procedures of transferring  the patients to King Faisal Specialist Hospital. This development happened during an initiative by King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the College of Medicine, and upon the University's desire to offer services for the community, when the dean of Medical College Prof. Abdullah Al Asiri observed a rare health condition of a patient suffering from severe shortness of aortic valve (Aorta). The condition was discovered during holding the KKU medical, educational and awareness program in TuhamaAssir, which took place few days ago.

The Dean of the medical college immediately gave a special care and attention to this case, and the attention continued after the conclusion of the program for fear of aggravation of the condition and more suffering by the patient. Based on that fear, the Dean quickly finished all the necessary procedures in transferring the patient to King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh in order to receive the necessary treatment and to follow the patient's condition closely.

The Dean reported thus, " the case is for a patient in his forties and needs a quick surgical intervention, and delaying the treatment in such a case is very dangerous. The possibility of death in such cases may reach up to ninety percent (90%) after two or three years from the onset of symptoms ". He Continued explaining," the symptoms are chest pain, or shortness of breath, or temporary loss of consciousness. Moreover, the case may be classified as one of the rare cases and narrow in the coronary arteries are the apparent disease to us".

On the discovery of the case the Dean clarified, "it was disclosed after giving the patient clinical detection, in which I found hearing murmurs issued by aortic valve. It turned out through the diagnosis that he has a severe shortness in valve. To confirm the validity of the diagnosis we did ultrasound rays for the heart, which showed the presence of severe shortness in the aortic valve. As a result of this, the patient was quickly transferred to King Faisal Specialist Hospital for an operation of switch valve".
