King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, celebrated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's creation of the new University Affairs Council in support of the nation's newly revised university system. Prof. Al-Solamy noted that the council formation is part of an overall strategy of development in most every sector including education. He explained that the Council is a body used to provide valuable guidance for higher education development within the Kingdom. "The Council, in conjunction with the His Excellency Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, will set strategic objectives and policies that fundamentally affect all university functions," he said.

Universities will be focusing on increasing efficiency and developing financial resources from a variety of sources. This is in support of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. Rector Al-Solamy concluded his statement with a prayer that Allah may bless the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, may Allah protect them; and may Allah aid them to achieve the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's goals and objectives.

Vice-Rector pro tem for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdullatif Al-Hadithi, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for forming the first University Affairs Council chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Education. Prof. Al-Hadithi confirmed that the Council is a pillar in the development of universities and advancing higher education.

Vice Rector of Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad Du'ajim, congratulated Saudi universities on His Royal Majesty's approval of the University Affairs Council. He acknowledged that the Council represents a valuable resource for aiding in the development of the university system.

Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Saad Al-Amri, thanked His Royal Majesty for his wisdom and benevolence in establishing the University Affairs Council. He stressed that the Council will have a significant impact on reforming education policies, which will ensure higher quality, efficiency, and competitiveness.

Vice Rector of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Majesty for forming the University Affairs Council. He stressed that this body will help accelerate major improvements and cutting-edge development in higher education.

Tehama Campus General Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shehri, expressed his appreciation for His Royal Majesty's approval of the first University Affairs Council in the Kingdom. He stressed that in light of the council members' core competencies and the Minister of Education's vast experience, there will be considerable leaps forward in developing the educational system in the Kingdom.

College of Medicine Dean, Prof. Sulaiman Al-Humaid, said that this Council is a logical extension of the implementation of the new university system. "Everyone is looking forward to the council's active role in approving regulations and policies for greater university efficiency and independence in accordance with Vision 2030," he said.

College of Sciences Dean, Prof. Ali Al-Shatti, said: "We are confident that this Council will take charge of university education matters in the Kingdom in the best interests of university education advancement and development at both the regional and global levels. His Royal Majesty wisely granted the Council broad authority over education policy, university strategy, financial control, administrative affairs, and staffing."

The university's female leaders expressed their gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for forming this Council, which is an important step in the continuing transformation in university education in the Kingdom. Vice Rector for Female Student Affairs, Prof. Kholoud Abu Melha, thanked His Royal Majesty for his wise leadership in forming the University Affairs Council. She also expressed her appreciation for the role of His Excellency the Minister of Education. She noted that the Council and Minister's work assures rapid development in educational effectiveness and growth across many sectors.

College of Science, Arts and Community at Rijal Alma Dean, Dr. Siham Al-Haider, said, "We thank our wise leadership for their keen interest in higher education. We also appreciate the new decisions and strategic policies, which will shape the new university structure. We applaud the formation of the University Affairs Council and the appointment of its members. We congratulate all education officials and employees for this first step, which will be a building block in the new university system. This will promote university independence, which will contribute to raising the quality of higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Al-Majardah, Dr. Maha Al-Shehri, thanked His Royal Majesty and the Minister of Education for their dedication to higher education. She prayed to Allah for more progress for our country under the supervision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect him. Dr. Al-Shehri explained that the Universities Affairs Council will shape the future of university education in the Kingdom in a way that achieves high quality, efficiency, and global competitiveness.
