King Khalid University's International Summer Training Program, under the direction and consent of the Minister of Education, His Excellency Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh, and supervision of King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, reached new heights with Media and Communications Department students at the College of Humanities. Students received training in England and the UAE that focused on the knowledge, skills and perspectives necessary for future careers in their respective specialties.

In England, the men's program was conducted at the University of Salford Manchester and was characterized by hands-on, industry-relevant courses. Of noteworthy mention, the University of Salford Manchester is the only higher education institution with an industry-leading facility at MediaCityUK, which also houses 200 digital companies and a broadcasting hub for the BBC and ITV. As a result, students were exposed to an intensive media curriculum that is relevant to the real world.

In the UAE, the women's program was conducted at the Fox News Academy under the supervision of Ms. Nora Abdul Qader Amer. The program included field visits to several public relations firms in Sharjah and Dubai where students met with qualified practitioners. Combining theories learned at King Khalid University with real training in person, students visited and trained at Al Arabiya, Al Hadath, MBC, Sky News, Abu Dhabi Broadcasting Group, Al Oula Radio, Al-Ittihad, and National Network Communications (NNC).
