Asir Press Recommends Expanded Media Center

The establishment of a media center was the primary recommendation of the press relations meeting that recently was held. A subset of outcomes was also agreed to that included plans for future workshops, activities, and interactions with official sectors. These recommendations come as the result of the first meeting organized by King Khalid University under the title: "Official Speakers and Media - The Joint Mission and the Desired Integration" on Monday evening, July 16, 1439.

In his opening statement, King Khalid University Rector, Dr. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, stressed that the University held this meeting to serve the community as a result of the vital importance and pivotal role the media plays. Regarding the move to the new campus, Al-Solamy explained that the formal procedures are underway. He also added that we have great hope and confidence in the various government departments in the region to continue the preparation of the roads and facilities so the move can take place as planned. He also confirmed that the University would open its Master of Arts in Media program after the completion of all academic procedures.

In his concluding remarks, His Excellency pointed out that the University is proud of its cultural and social activities, and is moving towards implementing specific plans to serve its students and community. The meeting witnessed the discussion of a series of media issues that touched on the concerns and hopes of both sides in a significant presence of the press and spokespersons.
