University Rector Sponsors the 11th Meeting of Dental Research

Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al- Solamy, the Faculty of Dentistry in cooperation with the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) held the 11th Scientific Meeting of Intern Dentists. The forum took place at Abha Palace Hotel in a vivid session that saw over 45 submitted pieces of research.

On the occasion, Rector Al-Solamy expressed his happiness with the communities of practice attending the meeting. He also said that it is necessary to maintain adequate supervision of the students and their scientific research to serve the university and region better. Rector Al-Solamy further emphasized that the initiative of the Dentistry College to host and invite the leading distinguished bodies in scientific research in the field of dentistry is a step that deserves praise and appreciation. He said, “students who perform research are the pillars of academic excellence." Rector Al-Solamy added that cooperation among scientific researchers is an essential priority for the university, and in fact, the establishment of this meeting is central to the university's objectives in supporting scientific research. At the end of his speech, Rector Al-Solamy thanked the students, researchers, and all those responsible for their participation. He hopes that the findings will be published in leading scientific journals.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Ibrahim Al Shahrani, thanked the Rector of the University for his unwavering support to the college in all of its activities. The purpose is to give the participants a chance to explore their research competencies through competition. Also, the scientific meetings encourage specialists to work outside the academic requirements. Dr. Ibrahim Al Shahrani pointed out that the Dentistry Faculty is cooperating with the World Association for Dental Research this year, represented by the IADR Saudi Division. This division seeks to improve the quantity and quality of research in order to take part in skill development and raise the scientific-practical capabilities of interns.

At the end of the meeting, the Rector honored the best three research submissions of male intern doctors as well as the best three research submissions for female intern doctors. He also honored the best researcher of the two categories.
