10 recommendations at the end of the first International Quranic Conference.

The activities of the first International Quranic Conference (employment of Koranic studies in the treatment of contemporary problems) were concluded yesterday evening. It is known that the conference was organized by King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the College of Sharia and the fundamentals of Islam, and was held in the university campus for three days. The conference also witnessed holding an exhibition in which nine entities specialized in the Holy Quran and its Sciences participated.

The number of participants at the conference amounted to approximately 40 researchers who have participated with papers, researches, as well as holding workshops and open meetings with a group of those who are interested in the Holy Quran and its Sciences, headed by His Excellency the Adviser at the Royal Court, who is also the member of the senior scientists, Dr. Abdullah Abdulmohsen Al Turki, in addition to the imam of the Grand Mosque, who is the Adviser at the Royal Court, and the member of the Council of senior scholars, His Excellency Dr. Saleh bin Humaid. Others are the General Director of the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Dr. Abdulrahman Sindh, as well as the imam of Quba mosque and the lecturer at Taibah University, Dr. Saleh Almoghamsi.

At the end of the conference, a number of recommendations were provided, according to the provisions of the Scientific Committee of the conference. Recommendations included thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud - may God protect him - and to His Royal Highness, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of the region, on the sponsorship, and to the Rector of KKU, His Excellency, Prof. Dr Faleh bin Rajaa Al Solamy, as well as to the Vice Presidents, researchers, guests, the College of Sharia, the Department of the Koran, and all the organizing committees. In addition, the officials recommend holding a conference periodically, every three years, God willing, and the next conference will be entitled 'the Koran and the building of civilization'. Moreover, they recommended the establishment of a research center in the College of Sharia, whose aims will be directed at treating contemporary problems through the Quran and Sunnah. His Excellency the Rector adopted establishing this center. The fifth recommendation was about the adoption of the Quran subject to all disciplines at the university as a requirement. Among the recommendations resulting from the conference was about those in charge of media programs who should cherish the Holy Quran. There was also a recommendation for the establishment of portal that could gather all specialists in the Holy Quran and its sciences from various countries of the Islamic world for the purpose of cooperation and exchange of experiences. The conference also recommended calling the attention of those interested in methods of teaching that are derived from the Quran and Sunnah according to the true faith, especially with regard to the substantive interpretation, guiding graduate students and scholars to the topics relevant to the Koran and the Sunna and its sciences. Finally, the conference recommended collecting all the recommendations and practical initiatives of researches, and publishing them with the commissioning of a committee to follow up.
