University concludes the activities of the Sports Olympiad in its second version.

The Rector of King Khalid University (KKU), Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, will sponsor the activities of the closing ceremony of the Sports Olympic on Monday. The activity, which is in its second version, is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs.

The Olympics started nearly a month ago, and included 11 collective and individual games, and in this version there was a high attendance by the university students who participated in all the activities of the various Olympic Games.

The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Moureh Al Habash, has stressed that the presence of the Rector at the closing ceremony was an honor to the ceremony and to the winners, and it was an extension for his - the Rector's - continual unlimited support, for all University activities. Dr. Al Habash said: “His Excellency ensured that all university students shall benefit from the various sports activities aiming at creating honest competition among them, and giving them the necessary sports expertise”.

Dr. Al Habash clarified that that Olympics was a large sports movement at the university level, which lasted for nearly a month, and through which all the university colleges competed in the 11 games; which are the registered Games in the Sports Federation of Universities. The aim of the sport is to discover the outstanding talents through the internal competitions, in addition to consolidating the relationship among the students themselves, and the implantation of values of fair competition. He added: “the current version of the Olympics included cultural and intellectual activities, like holding seminars about sports bigotry, sport injuries, and sports arbitration”.

It is noteworthy that today on the sidelines of the Olympics, a symposium about sport bigotry will be held and will be provided by two professors: The Professor of Sports Psychology, Dr. Salah Al Sakka, and the Professor of Sports Law, Dr. Abdul Latif Bukhari, in the central terraced in the university city in Abha at 10 am.
