Rector inaugurates blood donation campaign in support of the "Decisive Storm"

His Excellency, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Dawood, has inaugurated a blood donation campaign to support the "Decisive Storm." The campaign is organized by the university in cooperation with the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Asir region, and is taking place in the presence of University deans and Vice Deans. The event which started on 23 of the current month 1436 AH will continue up to 27.

The campaign aims at supporting the national defense and security forces who are involved in the battlefront, through blood donation by university stakeholders - the faculty members, other staffs, and students. Furthermore, the campaign aims at creating active participation of a number of surgeons, Consultants, crews, medical interns, technicians, and nurses of the university students in a number of hospitals and places along the national borders.

For his part, the Rector confirmed that the campaign came to support our brothers stationed in the battlefront. He said, "Donating blood is the least we can offer to our sons and brothers who are stationed on the entire border". He added," We call on God to protect our country and the rulers, and to sustain the blessing of safety and security in the light of our wise leadership. We pray to God to defeat the evil." Al Dawood thanked the holders of the campaign and the participants from the health colleges, and all the teams involved.

For his part, Dr. Khalid Al Jelban the Vice - President of Medical Specialties in King Khalid University stressed that "the move is directed by the Rector to support our fighters in the battlefront with our blood". Al Jelban further showed that the campaign emphasized everyone's role in solidarity in such crises. He said, "I pray to God to protect our blessed military forces in all battlefronts so that they do not need this blood."

The Representative of the university in the campaign, Dr. Abdullah Asiri explained that the day was considered a red-letter day of the country because the university was involved in supporting the Decisive Storm.

It is noteworthy that the campaign will last for a whole week. Moreover, the campaign will also witness a scientific symposium on disaster medicine, as well as lectures and activities. The venue of the campaign is in the Headquarter of the university, which is the front lines for awareness.
