University participates in the 5th Jazan University Book Fair.
King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs participated in the 5th Jazan University Book Fair. The Fair was inaugurated yesterday - 27/4/1436 AH - by the Prince of Jazan region. The Book Fair is within the activities of the 8th Cultural Season of Jazan University. The Fair included more than 75 publishing houses, 18 Saudi universities, 10 scientific associations, as well as many governmental and private institutions.
On his part at the occasion, the Dean of Library Affairs of King Khalid University, Dr. Saeed Bin Qassim Al-Khalidi stated that the university pavilion at the Fair included a number of University books which contain various issues in addition to researches, dissertations, Afaaq - the weekly newspaper which is issued by the university - as well as booklets and brochures. Dr. Al-Khalidi further stated that the purpose of displaying those materials was to give the university a chance to show its scientific productions, and to inform visitors to the exhibition about the efforts and services being provided by the university and the role it plays in such activities. He also explained that conducting book fairs in Saudi universities had a significant role in serving the community, and in contributing to greater cultural and educational awareness of the academic community in particular.
