University Council Establishes Collaboration with Monash University to Study Forest Fires' Prevention and Restoration Methods

On behalf of His Excellency, the Minister of Education His Excellency, President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, chaired the fourth University Council for the year 1445H, among the attendees of this council was the General Supervisor for the Council of Universities' Affairs, Prof. Bassam bin Abdullah Al-Bassam alongside members of the University Council.

The Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research, and University Council Secretary, Prof. Hamid bin Majdou Al-Qarni, explained that the council discussed the meeting agenda and took the proper actions.

A number of lecturers and teaching assistants were approved for scholarships, scholarship extensions, and terminations. As well as approving several graduate students for Masters' and PHD degrees, and approving faculty members' appointment, transferals, resignations, and retirement requests. Finally, the council approved faculty members' assisting services from various colleges.

The University Council discussed the yearly report for 1444H, and approved the General Financial Investment Plan for 2024 and the approximated budget for it. The University Council also approved the appointment of the Assistant of the University Financial Advisor to alternative revenue and the student fund for three years.

A number of MOUs and internal collaboration agreements have been approved. as well as approving a services contract between King Khalid University and the Australian Monash University to study methods of forest fires' prevention and restoration in the forests of the Southern, and South-Western regions. Finally, the council approved restructuring the name of (the Council of the Deanship for Research) for two years.
